FAQs and Advice to customers
We are fully committed to your health, safety and wellbeing as valued
School Transport Arrangements September 2020 (Click to find out more!)
We know that there are lots of concerns about the current serious situation and the uncertainty that everybody is feeling at this time. Our first priority is to protect the safety of customers and workforce alike. Our team are closely following advice from the Government and public health authorities regarding coronavirus (COVID-19). The advice from the government is that people must stay at home unless absolutely necessary. For this reason we are still operating, albeit to a reduced timetable. Please, to safeguard yourselves and our drivers follow this essential government advice.
We already have rigorous cleaning and sanitising methods in place for our vehicles and facilities, and this will be only bolstered if/as the current situation escalates – drivers are to be issued with sanitary hand cleaning gel and wipes.
Government and public health advice continues to be that the most effective measure that people can take to protect themselves and others from the virus is to regularly wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap and water, or use a hand sanitiser gel if soap and water isn’t available. We have issued detailed and regular reminders to our own teams about hygiene good practice and the importance of hand washing and we know that our customers will also be following this advice.
We have provided below answers to a range of common questions about travelling on our services. For more information on coronavirus, visit the NHS COVID-19 Page for more details.
Q. Is travel still possible?
Current Government and public health authority advice is that people must stay at home unless going out to their place of work as a "Key Worker", for single daily exercise or to a food shop. To this end people can continue to use public transport as a means of essential travel only. Please be aware police now have the power to board the vehicle at any time and query what you are doing and where you are going.
Q. Are there any extra measures I should take whilst travelling?
As advised by the NHS, people should follow simple measures to stop viruses like coronavirus spreading:
- -Wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds.
- -Always wash your hands when you get home or into work.
- -Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
- -Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze.
- -Put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards.
- -Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
Q. Are you enhancing your vehicle cleaning routines, and if so how?
We already have well-established and rigorous cleaning regimes for our Taxis, Minibuses Coaches & Service Buses and we will only enhance this as the situation progresses.
Q. How are you protecting your staff, such as drivers?
We are in the process of issuing our staff with personal hand sanitiser and actively promoting good hygiene practices. Sanitary wipes will also be availible to clean down the cab area before and after use.
